I also was able to participate in The Masters Drive Chip & Putt competition for the first time. I was in the 7-9 Boys division and even though I was younger (6 at the time), it was a great competition and a ton of fun. The local qualifier was at the Eau Claire Country Club and the top 3 boys in my division moved on to the sub-regional qualifier. I tied for 1st place and moved on to the sub regional at Sentry World Golf Club in Stevens Point. At the sub-regional event, only the top two boys in my division would move on to the regional qualifier. I ended up taking 2nd Place again, so I was headed to the regional qualifier at Medinah Country Club in Chicago; the final stage to see if I could make it to Augusta National and The Masters DC&P Championship in the Spring. Only the winner from each division makes it to Augusta and I took 6th Place out of the 18 golfers in my division. But I did finish the highest out of the four WI golfers to make it to the regional qualifier. I was sad that I didn’t make it to the DC&P Championship at the Masters but for my first-time doing the competition I thought I did well. I look forward to competing in the event again next year for my chance to make it to Augusta!
